NextFab is a makerspace with locations in South and North Philadelphia, offering memberships that provide access to a wide range of tools, equipment, and workshops in various disciplines, along with business resources and studio spaces for rent.
Membership Levels at NextFab
NextFab offers various membership levels to cater to different needs. The Standard membership provides general access to facilities and resources, while the Ultimate membership includes expanded access and premium benefits. Members can choose the plan that best fits their project requirements, acquiring access to a wide array of tools and expert guidance. Junior Membership is also available for young makers aged 10-17, letting them use the facilities under adult supervision.
Locations and Facilities
NextFab has two primary locations in Philadelphia: South Philadelphia and North Philadelphia. Each location features an extensive range of tools and equipment. The North Philadelphia site is particularly geared towards the artist and creative community, offering specialized studios for jewelry and textiles, as well as a gallery to showcase members' works. The South Philadelphia location includes an expanded electronics workshop, metal shop, and comprehensive 3D printing facilities.
Classes and Workshops
NextFab offers an array of classes and workshops in disciplines such as woodworking, metalworking, electronics, textiles, and jewelry making. These sessions are open to both members and the public, providing opportunities to learn new skills and improve existing ones. Additionally, NextFab hosts team-building events and private maker workshops, promoting a collaborative learning environment.
Artisan Accelerator Program
The Artisan Accelerator is a 9-month program by NextFab designed to support creative entrepreneurs. It offers comprehensive business education, extensive resources, and a community support network. Participants benefit from business development workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and access to NextFab's tools and equipment, helping them advance their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Product Development Services
NextFab's Product Development team provides an array of services, including design, engineering, prototyping, and short-run production. Members can leverage these services to turn their concepts into physical products. The team aids in various stages of product creation, from initial design to final production, ensuring that members can bring their projects to fruition efficiently.
