Current Role at The North Face
Kathryn Keehne serves as a Sustainability Analyst at The North Face, a VF Company, since 2021. In this role, she is responsible for maintaining and reporting on the latest sustainability trends, both internally and externally. She generates product sustainability insights and tracks environmental metrics for external communications. Additionally, she manages the verification of preferred materials attributes and certifications, including recycled or organic content and RDS-certified down.

Before her current position, Kathryn worked as a Sustainability Intern at Kontoor Brands, Inc. from 2019 to 2020 for five months. She also held a role as a Sustainability and Social Responsibility Intern at Vans, a Division of VF Outdoor, for two months in 2018. These experiences contributed to her expertise in sustainability practices within the apparel industry.

Kathryn Keehne earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her studies spanned from 2015 to 2019, providing her with a solid foundation in the principles of consumer behavior and retail management, which she applies in her current role.
Work History Prior to Sustainability Roles
Prior to her focus on sustainability, Kathryn held various positions in customer service and hospitality. She worked as a Hostess at Red Rocks Cafe from 2015 to 2018 and at Kabuto Japanese Steak House from 2017 to 2018. She also served as a Store Associate at Vans from 2018 to 2021. These roles helped her develop strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Research Experience
In 2020, Kathryn worked as a Research Assistant at Wake Forest University Graduate School for three months. This position allowed her to engage in academic research, further enhancing her analytical skills and understanding of sustainability issues.
