Open AR Cloud is a global non-profit organization focused on developing open and interoperable spatial computing technology to connect the physical and digital worlds.

Open AR Cloud aims to drive the development of open and interoperable spatial computing technology, data, and standards to connect the physical and digital worlds for the benefit of all.

Membership and Partners

Open AR Cloud boasts over 300 members and more than 60 partners. These partners include a diverse range of startups, large companies, NGOs, R&D organizations, and government institutions from various countries and industries.

AR Cloud Technology

The AR Cloud is a persistent 3D digital copy of the real world, continuously updated in real-time. This digital twin of the physical world is also referred to as the world's digital twin, real-time geospatial map, parallel digital universe, Magic Verse, Superverse, Metaverse, Mirrorworld, The Real World Web, and The Spatial Web.

Open Spatial Computing Platform (OSCP)

The Open Spatial Computing Platform (OSCP) is designed to build an open platform for the next era of computing. Its three core functions are: GeoPose, a locally shared Machine Readable World, and providing access to everything in the digital world nearby. Open AR Cloud collaborates with the Open Geospatial Consortium to develop a universal standard for GeoPose.

Events and Working Groups

Open AR Cloud hosts various events, both physical and online, including meetups, hackathons, and symposiums. The organization has several working groups focusing on different aspects of spatial computing such as spatial indexing, reality modeling, content delivery, privacy, edge computing, security, compliance, user experience, and open-source development.

Global Presence and Legal Status

Incorporated in the United States, Open AR Cloud is a global non-profit registered in Delaware, USA. The organization has also filed for tax exemption under clauses of the 501(c) code of the US IRS. In addition, Open AR Cloud Europe (gUG), a subsidiary founded in 2020, facilitates closer collaboration with European partners.
