The Proviso Leyden Council for Community Action (PLCCA) was established in 1968. Operating as a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, the organization has devoted over five decades to serve low-income residents across Cook County’s Proviso and Leyden Townships, the municipality of Norridge, and the Chicago metropolitan area.
Services
PLCCA provides over 30 programs and services focused on aiding low to moderate-income clients. The organization serves approximately 30,000 clients annually, offering diverse services including housing and energy assistance, youth development, substance abuse support, adult literacy programs, job readiness training, and senior citizen support. Specialized services are also offered to communities on the near West Side of Chicago and in South Suburban Cook County areas.
Programs
PLCCA operates multiple targeted programs. These include the resident cash assistance program to help with rent, bills, and groceries, along with Children, Youth, and Family Services, Behavioral Health Services, Supportive Services, and Program Services.
