Rajkot Engineering Association (REA) was formed in 1963 through the amalgamation of two separate industrial organizations. It is the oldest and largest industrial association in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, with a membership exceeding 1100 units. Over the past decade, Rajkot has emerged as one of the leading international industrial hubs. REA was instrumental in fostering industrial growth in Rajkot, contributing significantly to the development of small to large industries in the region.
Services Offered by Rajkot Engineering Association
Rajkot Engineering Association offers a wide range of services to its members. These include providing essential raw materials on a 'No Profit No Loss' basis during periods of short supply and issuing Certificates of Origin (Non-preferential) for exporters as authorized by DGFT, New Delhi. REA also organizes workshops, seminars, trainings, and buyer-seller meets to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of its members. Additionally, it provides access to an ultramodern library and a large A.C. auditorium with considerable seating capacity.
Affiliations and Government Representation
REA is affiliated with several renowned Indian organizations like C.I.I., MSME, FICCI, NSIC, CMTI, FASSI, EEPCINDIA, TERI, IIF, IDEMA, and DIC. The directors of REA represent the organization in various State and Central Government agencies, assisting members in resolving issues with government offices. By maintaining these affiliations, REA ensures continuous support and advocacy for its members' interests.
Member Enrichment and Development Programs
To foster the development of its members, Rajkot Engineering Association organizes various programs such as industrial exhibitions, seminars, workshops, and training sessions. These initiatives aim to enhance the technical knowledge and industrial competencies of its members. Notably, REA organized 'THE BIG SHOW RAJKOT-2014', an international exhibition, and a National Vendor Development Programme in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. The association also supports members' participation in international trade fairs in countries like Germany, USA, and China under the I.C. Scheme of MSME.
Facilities and Research Initiatives
REA has established significant facilities and research centers for the benefit of its members. The Rajkot Engineering Testing & Research Centre (RETARC) for submersible pumps and electric motors, approved and financed by the Ministry of MSME, New Delhi, and the Industries Commissioner, Government of Gujarat, is one such initiative. Additionally, REA's Common Facility Centre (CFC) for energy-saving pumps and electric motors stands as the first of its kind in India, providing NABL accredited testing services. These initiatives reflect REA's commitment to promoting technological advancement and innovation among its members.
