Rheonix provides fully automated, integrated molecular testing devices through its Encompass family of workstations, which include the Encompass MDx® and Encompass Optimum™. The company also offers a range of assays, including the Listeria PatternAlert™ assay for rapid identification of recurring Listeria contamination, the Beer SpoilerAlert™ assay for detecting spoilage organisms in beverages, and the STI TriPlex™ Assay for detecting sexually transmitted infections. Products
Rheonix's product lineup features the Encompass workstations which can process up to 24 samples simultaneously. The Encompass family includes the Encompass MDx® and Encompass Optimum™ models. The proprietary Rheonix CARD® cartridge automates processes such as lysis, DNA extraction, purification, amplification, and detection. Key assays developed by Rheonix include the Listeria PatternAlert™ assay, Beer SpoilerAlert™ assay, and a Cyclospora cayetanensis detection assay created in collaboration with the FDA. The company's COVID-19 MDx Assay is authorized for detecting various COVID-19 variants, including Omicron.
Automated Molecular Testing Devices
Rheonix's Encompass family of workstations are fully automated molecular testing devices designed to handle up to 24 samples from input to output without operator intervention. These workstations are capable of high multiplexing, processing up to 27 target probes per sample. The Rheonix CARD® cartridge used within these devices ensures the automation and accuracy of multiple molecular testing steps, including lysis, DNA extraction, purification, amplification, and detection.
Collaborations and Partnerships
Rheonix collaborates with several organizations to enhance its service offerings. Notably, the company partnered with the FDA to develop a fully automated Cyclospora cayetanensis detection assay for produce samples. Rheonix also formed a partnership with Eurofins to provide the Listeria PatternAlert™ testing service to its customers, facilitating the rapid identification and mitigation of recurring Listeria contamination.
COVID-19 Testing and Assays
Rheonix Laboratories, based in Ithaca, NY, performs COVID-19 testing. The COVID-19 MDx Assay developed by Rheonix is authorized for use with both respiratory and saliva specimens and can identify the Omicron variant and other variants of concern. This testing solution leverages the automation capabilities of Rheonix's Encompass workstations to deliver accurate and timely results.
