RIPE Network Coordination Centre
RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) is the Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, serving over 20,000 members in 76 countries. It provides IP address and ASN registration, tools for resource management, and various services including RIPE Atlas, RIPEstat, and K-root.
Services
The RIPE Network Coordination Centre provides a variety of services to its members. These include tools like RIPE Atlas, RIPEstat, RIS, and RIPE IPmap, which assist members in managing their IP allocations and assignments. The organization also offers a DNS Monitoring Service (DNSMON) and the RIPEstat Abuse Contact Finder. Additionally, RIPE NCC runs the RIPE NCC Certified Professionals program and provides online learning through the RIPE NCC Academy.
Community Support and Training
RIPE NCC supports the networking community through technical coordination and training. It hosts various meetings including RIPE Meetings, Regional Meetings, General Meetings, and Roundtable Meetings. The organization organizes training courses and webinars on crucial topics such as IPv6, BGP, and routing security. Moreover, it runs the RIPE Fellowship to support attendance at its events and manages the RIPE Labs platform for discussion and collaboration on network operations and tools.
Internet Resources Registration
As the Regional Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, RIPE NCC is responsible for registering IP addresses and ASNs in these regions. It operates the RIPE Database, which manages Internet number resources. The center also provides the RIPE IPmap API for mapping core Internet infrastructure.
RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund
RIPE NCC operates the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, which allocates €250,000 annually to support innovative projects within the community. This fund is designed to bolster technical development and enhancements that benefit the wider Internet ecosystem.
