Company History
RoadBotics was spun out of Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Robotics Institute in 2016. The company successfully raised $11.4 million in venture capital investment before being acquired by the Michelin Group in July 2022. This acquisition has allowed RoadBotics to expand its capabilities and offerings within the road assessment sector.

RoadWay Platform Features
The RoadWay platform allows users to visualize and analyze their entire road network and includes features such as measurement tools, dynamic segmentation, and embedded maps. It also offers a Network Score Analysis displaying the network’s score by reporting the overall average rating and percentage of roads at individual ratings from 1 to 5. Users can view 1080p high-definition images of each road section, navigate roads from their desk, and make data-driven decisions. The platform supports data collection using a smartphone, GoPro, or 360 camera.
