SHINE Technologies
SHINE Technologies specializes in neutron generation for industrial inspection, medical isotope production, nuclear waste recycling, and fusion energy development.
Services
SHINE Technologies provides inspection services of industrial components using neutron generation to ensure the integrity of high-performing parts. Additionally, the Phoenix Imaging Center in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, offers a full suite of neutron radiography services. SHINE's FLARE™ (Fusion Linear Accelerator for Radiation Effects) system delivers the highest flux steady-state 14 MeV neutron source for survivability testing in the industry.
Medical Isotopes Production
SHINE Technologies produces medical isotopes critical for diagnosing and treating heart disease, cancer, and other serious illnesses. The Chrysalis facility in Janesville, Wisconsin, focuses on producing molybdenum-99, used in about 40 million patient scans each year, with around 50% of these in North America. The Cassiopeia facility aims to be the world's largest producer of lutetium-177, with a capacity of up to 300,000 patient doses per year, contributing to targeted cancer therapy and several global clinical trials. SHINE is also developing a European medical isotope production facility in Veendam, the Netherlands.
Fusion Technology
SHINE Technologies has commercialized fusion technology and is scaling it through a four-phased approach. The company aims to generate fusion energy as a clean, abundant, and economically viable power source. Their fusion neutron generators hold a world record for the highest neutron output in a sustained fusion reaction within a steady-state system. SHINE plans to use this technology to convert long-lived radioactive waste into shorter-lived or stable materials.
Nuclear Waste Recycling
SHINE Technologies is working on recycling nuclear waste to make fission power more environmentally and socially friendly. The company uses its fusion technology to transmute long-lived radioactive waste into shorter-lived or stable materials, contributing to safer and more sustainable nuclear energy practices.
Facilities
SHINE Technologies operates several specialized facilities, each focusing on different aspects of the company's operations. The Phoenix Imaging Center in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, provides neutron radiography services. The Chrysalis facility in Janesville, Wisconsin, focuses on producing molybdenum-99, while the Cassiopeia facility aims to produce lutetium-177. SHINE's Heliopolis facility in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, houses the Systems and Manufacturing division. The company is also planning a European medical isotope production facility in Veendam, the Netherlands.
