Products

Taiga supplies a wide range of building materials including composite decking, engineered wood, fencing, flooring, insulation, lumber, mouldings, panels, preserved wood, and siding. They are the national distributor of LP SmartSide engineered wood, Pinkwood's engineered wood products, and insulation products for Johns Manville and DOW. Taiga also specializes in distributing Eastern and Western Canadian dimension SPF (Spruce, Pine, Fir) lumber and manufactures mouldings from medium-density fibreboard (MDF) and finger joint pine (FJP). Their composite decking products include Trex Signature®, Trex Transcend®, Trex Select®, and Trex Enhance®.

Wood Preservation Plants

Taiga operates several wood preservation plants across Canada. Their facilities include a wood preservation plant in Langley, BC (operational since 1997), in Edmonton, AB (since 1999), and in Monetville, ON (since 2005). Taiga's Envirofor treating plants in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario have been certified by Environment Canada and Wood Preservation Canada. The company acquired Exterior Wood, Inc. in Washougal, Washington, in 2018. Taiga's preservation process protects wood against termite attacks and fungal decay.

Distribution Network

Taiga operates an extensive distribution network with 15 distribution centres in Canada, 3 distribution centres in the Western USA, and 6 reload stations in the Eastern USA. Their presence extends coast-to-coast across Canada and into the Pacific Northwest and California. This network supports their role as a national distributor for several key building materials, allowing them to effectively serve a wide geographic market.

Environmental Certifications and Practices

Taiga supports and encourages the effective management of forest resources for future generations through responsible practices in pressure-treated wood production. They operate among the most efficient and environmentally-friendly wood preservation plants in Canada. Their composite decking products are made from 95% recycled materials, and their wood preservation methods have received certifications from Environment Canada and Wood Preservation Canada.
