Education Programs
The Concilio's programs have empowered over 20,000 parents and their children in 28 regional school districts. The PASE program, which has helped over 18,000 parents and 24,000 students, fosters greater engagement in children's education. Another key initiative is the Latino Strategy Institute, which provides data-driven training and resources to organizations working with Latino and Hispanic populations. Additional programs include the Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors program, designed specifically for Latino parents with young children, ensuring they receive early childhood education tailored to their cultural needs.
Health Programs
The Concilio's health initiatives are designed to address prevalent health issues in the Latino community. The Healthy Kids, Healthy Families program supports families vulnerable to obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. The Comprando Rico y Sano program promotes healthy shopping and eating practices through culturally sensitive nutrition education. The organization also facilitates benefit enrollment for SNAP, CHIP, and Medicaid, making these essential services accessible to more families.
Community Support Services
The Concilio offers a wide array of resources to the communities they serve. These include financial coaching, crisis intervention, financial assistance, and cultural competency training. In addition, the organization provides vaccine outreach and education, food and basic needs, rental and utility assistance, unemployment compensation, mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault referrals, education, and medical care. The Young Latino Professionals Network offers a space for career growth and networking for young Latino professionals in North Texas. The Power of Latinos Summit gathers stakeholders to ideate and commit to the advancement of Latinos in DFW and North Texas. The annual Big Dreams Gala raises funds to support The Concilio's programs while celebrating the community impact they have achieved.
