The Veterans Memorial Auditorium, commonly known as The VETS, is located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. It is part of the Rhode Island Convention and Entertainment Complex and holds a place on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2015, The VETS underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, transforming it into a state-of-the-art performance facility.
Facilities and Features of The VETS
The VETS boasts a seating capacity of just over 2,000 seats, with recent renovations increasing the total from 1,933 to 2,011 seats. The venue is known for its breathtaking proscenium stage and an exquisite interior that features a unique ceiling displaying the shields of Rhode Island’s original 39 communities. The facility includes various event spaces for rental, such as a main auditorium, gallery, board room, loft, and ENCORE lounge.
Management and Operations at The VETS
Professional Facilities Management (PFM) manages The VETS. The management ensures that the venue maintains a Safe and Clean Commitment, integrating enhanced air handling and filtration systems, new sanitation technologies, and mobile ticketing for a convenient, contactless, and secure guest experience. Assistive listening devices are available free of charge at the House Manager’s desk to aid visitors with hearing impairments.

Home to visual and performing arts companies like FirstWorks, the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, and Festival Ballet Providence, The VETS serves as an important cultural hub.
