Ultima Genomics

Ultima Genomics

Ultima Genomics provides advanced genome-wide methylation profiling and offers the UG 100™ Sequencer for cost-effective, high-accuracy genome sequencing. The company collaborates with NVIDIA and AWS to enhance sequencing capabilities using AI and machine learning.

Services

Ultima Genomics provides a broad range of genomic services, including genome-wide methylation profiling from cfDNA, germline genetics, MRD and rare event detection, tumor profiling, single cell and spatial sequencing, RNA sequencing, and methylation sequencing. Its applications include deep whole genome profiling for comprehensive tumor profiling and high accuracy copy number variant calls, as well as scalable single cell Perturb-Seq assays and tools to convert single cell sequencing output to paired end reads.

Products

Ultima Genomics offers several key products, most notably the UG 100™ Sequencer, ppmSeq for Rare Event Detection, and high-quality RNA-seq data solutions. The UG 100™ Sequencer is designed for $1/Gb sequencing and can run 24/7 with minimal operator touchpoints, offering scalability, flexibility, and high accuracy. It can load up to 6 sets of wafers and samples for 60 hours of uninterrupted operation. It is 8x cheaper per run and half the cost per gigabase compared to the NovaSeq X Series 25B flow cell. The company also provides long 300bp contiguous reads for enhanced isoform detection in RNA-seq studies.

Technological Advancements

Ultima Genomics incorporates advanced technologies to enhance its genomic sequencing capabilities. It uses an open substrate to create a massive, low-cost reaction surface, delivering many billions of reads. The sequencers employ spinning circular wafers for efficient reagent use and zero crosstalk. Machine learning algorithms are deployed across terabases of context for highly reproducible and accurate results, ensuring high accuracy SNP and Indel variant calling. The technology combines the speed, efficiency, and read lengths of natural nucleotides with the accuracy and scalability of endpoint detection.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Ultima Genomics collaborates with NVIDIA to deliver $100 genome sequencing using AI and accelerated computing. The company also partners with AWS for the Genomics DeepVariant Ready2Run workflow and with leading single cell companies like 10x Genomics and Parse Biosciences for library prep workflows. For methylation sequencing and analysis, it uses the NEBNext® Enzymatic Methyl-seq Kit.
